March is Women’s Month, and what better way to celebrate than with art that tells the story of Filipina strength, beauty, and resilience? At Uptown Mall, BGC, we’re bringing together stunning Klaypel artworks that honor the incredible women who shape our lives and our culture.

Art That Tells a Story
Step into the exhibit and you’ll see Klaypel paintings created by talented Filipina artists. Each piece is more than just color on a canvas—it’s a tribute. A tribute to the mothers, sisters, daughters, and trailblazers who inspire us every day. The textures, the details, the emotion behind every stroke—they all come together to form a powerful celebration of what it means to be a Filipina.
The Pinay Collection by Rommel Rico
At the heart of this exhibit is the Pinay Collection by Rommel Rico. His work isn’t just about art—it’s about gratitude. Raised in a matriarchal family, Rommel grew up with his grandmother while his mother worked tirelessly to provide for them. He saw firsthand the strength of the Filipina, and that experience shaped him.
Though he spent years as a registered nurse and medical professional, Rommel’s true calling was always art. Now a full-time artist, he uses Klaypel to capture the soul of the Filipina—their resilience, their grace, their power. Every piece in his collection is a love letter to the women who raised him and to Filipinas everywhere.
These exclusive designs are available in DIY Klaypel kits, so you can take a piece of this collection home with you!

When Art Meets Fashion
Alongside the paintings, you’ll also find two breathtaking fashion masterpieces by Rommel that prove sustainable art is truly a lifestyle. Rommel merges art and fashion through recycled fabric and uncommon techniques, showcasing how creativity can break boundaries and tell a story in more ways than one.
The Women Behind Klaypel
Klaypel itself is a testament to the power of women. Founded by Sue Morales and co-founded by daughter Jela Morales, this brand was built by two visionary women who saw the potential of creativity to inspire and connect people. Their passion and determination turned Klaypel into what it is today—a platform where art meets purpose, where stories come to life, and where artists, both emerging and established, can share their voice.
